Using the Virginia Tech Google SMTP Relay#

If your application needs to send email, you can use the Virginia Tech Google SMTP relay.

  • Limitations: This relay is not suitable for bulk mail (over 5,000 emails per day) from a single address.
  • Requirements: To send mail through the relay you must have either:
  • A VT PACE account
  • A departmentally managed Google Group (the sender address must be a -g group).

Configure your application's SMTP settings accordingly and adhere to the usage limits.
